A short, homophonic setting of Psalm 34, this piece for unaccompanied SATB choir is well-crafted and straightforward: it sounds more difficult than it actually is. The contours of the phrases are natural and intuitive, with a high point occurring on the text “Blessed are they” and then a gradual decrescendo to a quiet, contemplative close.
